These days I’ve run across quite a few people going through it. I get it, life is hard right now and adulting requires we push through it. However, we can’t afford to burn out, cause let me tell ya, healing from it can be hard. So, this week I want us to pause and do a self-check.
You’ve probably read and heard it a million times, that meditation helps with stress. It’s true and what’s more it has a track record of being a successful stress reduction tool, and is scientifically proven.
It is no secret that things right now are…eh…difficult. Does anyone else feel like it has been 2+ years of a constant barrage of fear, lies, bullying, political nightmares, media insanity…and just sadness?

This morning, while feeding the chickens, I contemplated what this year has brought. I’d be lying to you if I didn’t tell you this year has brought a lot of fucked up shit.
Chronic Illness—it’s safe to say that we either already know or will meet someone suffering of a chronic illness (or maybe we fall in that realm ourselves). But sometimes we fail to realize the emotional and physical toll it takes on that person throughout their lifetime.
It has been over a month since I took my very own retreat trip with Stoked Yogi. I host retreats myself so it is such a treat for me to take a retreat trip. Not only can I dig into my own stuff, but I can also understand what it is like for a guest – it’s a great opportunity all the way around.
Our thoughts are not our identity. Our thoughts can be changed. But frequently negative thoughts hijack our life. Many people let these thoughts take over their identity, their daily experiences, their joy — all without embracing the basic premise that we have the ability to change our thoughts.
