Hey loves! Turkey day is behind us and now the holiday seasons are OFFICIALLY here, woot! Have you started binging on Hallmark Christmas movie specials? Did you start making plans with your loved ones about how you’ll spend the holidays? Even more, have you dusted off your 2022 bucket list you wrote in 2021 to see what you’ve accomplished? If you’ve crossed them all off or are feeling a little stuck, today’s blog post is dedicated to you. I’ve suggested ten bucket list ideas to do before 2022 ends. Grab some peppermint tea, and let’s gab!
The Importance of Intention Setting
While the tea brews, allow me to remind you about the importance of setting intentions and its positive effect on your mental health. Per my old post, I don’t focus on setting goals. Instead, I focus on setting intentions because it keeps me focused on what I want to achieve the most. I find that with goals, if I’ve not hit the exact target (like a number etc.,) I get deterred about achieving the end result.
I have used Danielle LaPorte’s book, Desire Map , to help me evaluate what I want to achieve in the past and use similar processes now too. Personally, it’s all about feelings, connections, emotions. Not things.
Here’s my personal guide -> Desired feeling—> Intention—> Inspired Action.
When I do this, it means there’s always something new that I can add to the list and look towards improving the next year. Growth is continuous and learning is life long, so again, I remain mindful about the intentions I set (and note that I am writing my life in pencil as things change, I grow, etc- nothing is permanent).
Now for this blog, I’ll specifically be focusing on bucket list ideas, these can be set as intentions and/or activities that can help you end the year on a high note. You ready? Here’s my ten bucket list ideas to do before 2022 ends.
Ten Bucket List Ideas to do Before 2022 Ends
- Share the love. Take some time to share how you feel with your loved ones. A handwritten note, card or artwork goes a long way.
- Schedule a health check. What appts are you needing? Dental? Women’s health? Get those scheduled.
- Review budget/spending/priorities. Where are you financially? This may not be a priority in general but knowing where you spent money helps you determine where your priorities lay. Is that where you want them to be next year? What changes could you make if any?
- Dedicate some time to charity work. Speaking of financials, make a year-end donation to your favorite charity. Or raise money for one. Or go spend a day volunteering somewhere.
- Clear that clutter. Speaking of charitable work, now is a good time to clean out the closets, the pantries, and the drawers. What can you donate? What needs to see the inside of a trashcan?
- Read through past journals. Reflect on where you have been and where you are going.
- Start a reading plan. How many books do you want to read this year? Fun books, self-development, etc. Consider a reading book club.
- Plan one new thing you are going to do and put it on the calendar. It’ll be even better if you sign up/buy tickets/go with a partner for motivation and accountability.
- Prioritize self-care. Schedule it. Put it on the calendar as a weekly focus (if not daily).
- Create an achievement list. List everything you have accomplished this past year. In relationships. In goals. In work. In life.
BONUS: Create a gratitude list. I mean list everything. From your warm socks to running water to your significant others specific actions. List it. Pray/mediate over it.
Final Thoughts on Bucket Lists Ideas Before the Year Ends
Ladies, as promised, it’s nothing too heavy. The ideas I’ve suggested are steeped in self-love and self-care. It’s been a long year and a challenging one for many. Let’s end 2022 on a high note and start 2023 with a positive mindset, good energy and a can-do attitude.
Until next week!
XOXO Shannon
