Hi lovies! I hope your summer plans have been coming along swimmingly. With back to school hovering closer than we’d like to admit (if only the kids knew how we felt too), remember to take that break and have some last-minute fun with your loved ones (human, pet or otherwise). When I look at how quickly time passed with my two older kids (read: adults!), I make the extra effort to spend some time with my not-so-little ones. Ok, ok, let’s get to the good stuff! Today I want to talk about my second favorite passion, my online yoga teacher training program. I’ve got some exciting news coming at the end, so without further ado, let’s get into it!
The Benefits of Online Yoga Classes
With the rise of the internet, more people have become better interconnected by how we share knowledge. These days, online programs, ranging from certifications to postgraduates are all attainable with just the click of a button.
The truth is, the online education model works well not only for theoretical studies, but also in physically demanding areas of study, like yoga and even dentistry. In fact, a 2021 study demonstrated that higher-education students found online classes particularly valuable based on:
- Diversity of course designs that allowed assignments to be completed across different learning environments.
- The increased approachability and response rate from instructors.
- The overall design of online courses which were found to be well-organized, user-friendly, and had clearly defined goals.
And interestingly enough:
- The enthusiasm of the instructor about online learning.
Now, I may be a little biased, but I can definitely admit that my partner, Kim and I are extremely enthusiastic about our ability to help aspiring yoga teachers (or yoga enthusiasts) from around the world achieve their dreams. We favor our online platform because of the flexibility it offers our students. We have a rich student pool comprised of varying backgrounds who all share one common goal, the need to immerse themselves in a enriching yoga program that offers flexibility (and a stable community), given life’s proclivity to well…life.
A Time When Flexible Online Yoga Teacher Training Proved Invaluable
Our MindBodyComplete 200 Online Yoga Teacher Program is a Registered Yoga School with Yoga Alliance. At the early onset of COVID, the yoga teacher community understood that we couldn’t leave current and future yoga teachers behind. Yoga Alliance temporarily allowed certifications through online programs, but the results proved so successful, that just recently they officially made it permanent. YAY!
When I reflect on the number of lives our course has touched from around the world, I get chills. At a time when our need to focus on the mind and body was greater than ever, the spirit of yoga was there to comfort, distract, and help students realize ideological, lifestyle, and career shifts. There is a reason the practice of yoga has pervaded over the millennia; it transforms lives all while remaining steeped in community and connectedness.
I’d actually like to share one of the reviews we received that made all those sleepless nights building out the course worth it.
“I recently graduated from the Mind & Body Online Yoga Teacher Training Program and am so glad I choose this program! I did it while I was deployed in Africa and really enjoyed being able to teach my fellow soldiers deployed with me. The sense of community was sound with the Zoom calls and the email and phone support from Shannon & Kim. Excited that I have lifetime access to the program and highly recommend it to anyone wanting to go at their own pace but still have quality training and support.”

What’s Next for Online Yoga Teacher Training?
With online yoga teacher training becoming a permanent option by the world’s most prominent yoga certification body, Yoga Alliance, those of you who are currently enrolled are guaranteed the continuation of our program.
This warms my soul because you and future students will continue to have access to the life-changing course (did I mention it is a LIFE course, not just a YOGA course?), offering of a flexible, thorough, and engaging online yoga teacher training program. Last year, we even added live online yoga support to guarantee that no matter the time zone, an expert from the team is always available to you.
Let us all breathe a sigh of relief that yoga will continue to move and expand as it always has and hopefully always will. Whether enrolled or not, I encourage you to visit Yoga Alliance and read the announcement in its entirety.
XOXO Shannon
PS- our online yoga teacher training program even has a live in person retreat option- in case one wants to have a little bit of that traditional model as well.
